Well what now?
Well the new server has been running rather well so far ::knocks on wood::. I guess the next this is to update the code and add features to it. This little news bulletin is nice, but having a links section and a real stories section would be wonderful heh?

Move finally complete WOOHOO!!!
Finally have a server in place and running!! This was a much more painful transition than I imagined it could be. I ended up rebuilding the hardware and part of the problems I found after much research was that the model of network card we were using in the server was less than totally reliable (issues with early 3c59x and 3c90x cards). That is finally figured out so hopefully things are finally sorted out with any luck.

Well some new news and to sum up some useful information . . .
Epic Games has announced that they will be merging with Scion Studios, whose founder was lead designer for America's Army which used the unreal engine. The press release can be found here. Does anybody besides me remember when they were known as "Epic Mega Games"? I've still have copies of Jazz Jackrabbit and Epic Pinball.

TDM results
The HTM hosted server had plenty of bandwidth to allow 6 spectators...a very cool thing.
We hope to have a rematch soon!

Upcoming TDM - THIS SUNDAY!!
From Steve's Message.....
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
As you know we have a TDM game this Sunday (2/22) versus the HTM clan. They're much like us: very varied in skill and out to have fun.
Anyway, I have made a couple of decisions I hope will make this an easyexperience.
1) We will play ALL of our games on one server: the HTM server(unreal://215.15.144.29:7777)
2) Whoever can play will play; we have no set roster
3) Time: 3:00pm Mountain Time, 4:00 Central
Maps: DM-AkBal, DM-GrendelKeep, DM-CBP-Downgrave, DM-CBP-Emporer
Object: to have fun
Plan:
ANYONE who can play will need to show up at the HTM server as close aspossible to 3:00pm Mountain (after is okay so we can rotate). We will rotatethe matches; whoever can play will. I do not want to play all four matches consecutively; I doubt anyone does. Please DO NOT HESITATE TO PLAY!!!! We need the players, do not think you're not welcome if you're rusty or worriedabout slowing the team down. We've never practiced so our expectationscannot be that high to being with ;-)
As with ALL UT, the goal is to have fun. And, to end the games ASAP so I canplay more Onslaught.
This is casual as much as I can make it, but I would like to make sure wehave at least 4 players as long as the matches last. I know HTM has beenpracticing a long time and I think we owe them a good match.
PLEASE feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. And remember, thereare no stupid questions. If you're wondering about something, it's verylikely other people are wondering about the same thing.
Here is the address of a forum with many questions addressed: http://mobiletoyz.net/h-town/phpbb2/index.php

UT2004 Demo Game server
I've setup a UT2004 Game Demo server at 67.39.230.157:6666 try it out and let me know. This server is running on the same box as my regular UT2003 server, so hopefully I won't get too many players on both at the same time.

Updated Feb 12, 2004 13:03:
I've just added it to the server list so you can see who's there and enabled built-in voice chat support for anybody that wants to try it.
Currently it's setup for Onslaught, which is probably the best team based game I've tried on UT, the map (Torlan) is pretty good, and requires a bit of work to keep control of the nodes.

STNY Permanently offline :^(
Well unfortunately for the UT2003 gaming community stny appears to be permanently off line, apparently due to unthoughtful people complaining about the service.
Taken from http://ut2k3maps.gaming.stny.com/:
I have had to take down the UT2k3 Map redirection service. I do not have the time to maintain it. And no one has stepped forward to volunteer to help code what needed to be done. And I have received one to many emails regarding how I am a jerk for not keeping a FREE SERVICE working. I am sorry to those of you who have depended upon this service. I not only do not have the time to keep it running, I dont have the time to play the game itself.
SJ has found another server that we can use for a redirect at http://uz2.gameservers.net/ the upload page is http://uz2.gameservers.net/upload/. It is not totally clear if this is a public redirect, but at this time it appears so. The SBD clan is also investigating getting our own web space for a clan redirect.
