I was looking forward to an MMO called Peria Chronicles, unfortunately, development was shutdown.
The thing that turned me on was the art style and ability to customize characters, plus many of the planned features sounded cool. There was a closed beta for the game in Korea and after that, it was shut down because of the very poor feedback that was received.
Well, that gaming system I built in 2015 has held up well, probably due to Intel not really innovating in the past. It's nice that AMD is actually making some decent CPUs again and making Intel sweat a little bit.
Only changes since then are that the GPU was upgraded to a GTX 1070 about a year ago as well as the old power supply as the ancient 2007 silencer didn't have 8pin PCI-e connectors it was replaced.
At this point, it would be worthwhile to upgrade the hybrid hard drive to a 1TB M.2 SSD as it would help with loading times for some games. Frankly, that could be put off for a year yet probably without having to put up with performance issues most likely.
So not much new looking forward to a few games like Blue Protocol and a few more but not hearing or seeing anything that really jumps out to me and makes me want to say "this is awesome".
A few years ago I wrote about a game Peria Chronicles that looked interesting from character design and world point of view, but it looks like that game is not making any progress.
That said I saw an announcement for a new game Genshin Impact that is going into closed beta testing this month. They have an announcement trailer up on YouTube, with the video below.
It looks like it's going to be released simultaneously in China, Korea, Japan end the US in the summer of 2020. About the only information that's been released is it's a cross-platform open-world RPG and that the closed beta will be on iOS and PC. The developer is Mihoyo which has produced several mobile games with Honkhai Impact the 3rd an iOS & Android ARPG being the best known in the west.
